While helping your young children to learn to brush can be tough, it’s downright impossible, hazardous and not advised for children aged 3 and under. For babies and newborns, you can use dental tissues, also referred to as tooth wipes. Tooth tissues should be used after children swallow or drink sugary foods like juices or fruit, and the tissue should be tossed after a single use.
Baby bottle tooth decay is caused when children receive a surplus of sugary materials that are not brushed or washed away with good dental hygiene practices. When foods are allowed to rest on the pearly whites for too long, they make bacterial acids which consume away at the chompers and weaken oral health in a number of ways. Sugary substances given to children frequently include soda and juices in bottles and sugar on a pacifier; do not feed these materials to your newborns.
